Description: Autumn Bliss as the name suggests it is an autumn fruiting variety of this very popular fruit.

This is for 3 canes.

Organically grown

Raspberries have been valued since ancient times when the fruit was collected at first for medicinal use rather than food.
Plant raspberries need fairly deep soil with a ph of around 6.5.
This can be obtained easily by adding organic matter to the planting site.

In the wild they grow in light shade in woodlands but cultivated stock is best grown in full sun or part shade but the best crops are always the ones in full sun.
Always plant the canes up to the soil mark on the cane and water well but don’t let the roots sit in water or they could rot.
More fruit can be obtained by spacing the plants 60 cm apart as in the Scottish stool system.
Raspberries must be supported by either training up a wall which has been strung with wires or on a free standing wire system.
The easiest way is to have a row of canes on the English hedgerow system where two posts are driven into the soil at either end of the row and wires are run between them.
The lower wire should be 60cm of the ground, the second wire 1.2meters and a top one of 1.5meters.
The spacing is not that critical but these measurements make it easy to train the growing canes.
When tying the canes to the wires always use the figure of eight method so that the canes don’t rub against the wire.
When the canes reach the top wire they are then looped over and brought back down the wires.

This method makes the canes try to grow downhill, as this is harder for the plant to achieve it grows slower thus putting more energy into fruit production and not cane growth.
Once the fruit has been picked the fruiting cane can be cut out as it won’t fruit again.
By removing the fruited canes it gives the new canes time and room to grow and produce more fruit next year.

Three raspberry cane will be supplied ready for planting.

They will be dug up after payment to preserve their freshness and must be planted on arrival.
The canes will be pruned to about a foot or to the nearest bud.
