UK Hardy guide to carnivorous plants.
This is only a guide based on our trials over the last few years.
We cant take responsibility for the demise of any plants due to different conditions and climate change,
growing conditions, please only use this as a guide.

Fully hardy = Can be left outside all year round, no damage after hard frost
Hardy = Hardy if kept in a sheltered spot, can be damaged by hard frost but can tolerate light frost
Tender = Must be kept frost free.
Tropical = needs to be kept warm

Drosera x hybrida = Fully Hardy, best grown outside as they need the cold to over winter
Drosera Alicia = Tropical
Drosera Binata ‘T’ form = Hardy but if kept warm will grow all year.
Drosera Binata multifida = Hardy but if kept warm will grow all year.
Drosera Capensis = Hardy but if kept warm will grow all year.
Drosera Filiformis = Fully Hardy, best grown outside to avoid fungus.
Drosera Rotundifolia = Fully Hardy, best grown outside to avoid fungus.
Drosera Spatulata = Tender.
Pinguicula grandiflora = Fully hardy, native so grows wild in the UK.
Utricularia Alpina = Tropical, best grown with Nepenthes.
Utricularia Blanchetti = Tender to Tropical.
Utricularia Livida = Tender to Tropical.
Utricularia Sandersonii = Tender to Tropical.
Utricularia Subulata = Tender to Tropical.
Nepenthes = All Tropical need humidity and heat.
Darlingtonia californica = Hardy, best kept in a sheltered spot.
Dionaea muscipula = Hardy, some of the cultivars (Red Dragon etc) are best kept frost free.
Sarracenia = All Fully hardy, can also be grown in unheated greenhouses but watch for fungus etc.
